Halo Reach: ATFF Chapter 9
She sat up and tried to pull the bandage off of her eye. "Don't even think about it." Cookie said without looking up from her book. "Ugh, come on!" Eve whined. "This thing itches! And I want to see what that crazy chick did to my eye." "I know you do. But while I'm here, Do. Not. Touch. It." "Fine!" She sighed. Eve looked to her stub of a shoulder. "You're getting a new one soon. Don't worry." Bisk assured her. "So don't poke it." Eve stood up and put her hand on her hip, "God! You two are starting to sound like... Well, your mom, Cookie!" Her friend stuck her tounge out at her. She stuck hers right back. Eve picked up a hairbow and looked at her friend, "Can you help me put my hair up again?" She asked. Cookie closed her book and walked up to Eve. "Bun or ponytail?" "Just a bun. My hair keeps gettin caught in my bandage." "Alright." She said taking her hair in her hand. Cookie twisted it around and tied the hairbow around it. "How's that?" She asked. "

Confronting Your Hate
It was a long, dark abyss, the cold air blistered her skin. Eve looked around and saw a red light off in the distance. She stood and stared at it, trying to focus. She started to run at it, curious to know what it was. But the closer she got, the further away it seemed. She sighed and tried to look at it from her distance from the object. She gasped when suddenly, out of nowhere, it flew fast as it could up to her. Her heart skipped a beat when she realized it was a Covenant War Ship. She turned to run, but her feet wouldn't budge. It was like they were glued to the ground. Suddenly, her body felt as if it were on fire. The beam of red light moved over her and flames licked at her, trying to burn her like everything else, but didn't succeed. She looked up as the red light moced from on top of her and felt like the breath was ripped from her lungs. Burned trees, buildings, and the most disturbing part. Skeletons. Charred remains of people who were running

Don't Wake Me
Almost two weeks had gone by with no change in Eve's condition...
Cookie was just getting angry now... Really angry. How much longer until she was okay? She was out of the red-zone, as far as the doctors knew. ``Is anything just okay anymore? Why is everything always so... so... so terrible? Nothing could ever go right, like any of us want it to?`` Cookie thought. She looked back over to the brainwave monitor, "You must be hacing a nice dream. I just hope it doesn't keep you occupied for much longer." She sighed, and continued reading her book.
"Wow! You're good at wrestling!" The young girl said to her. "Thanks." Eve replied, rubbing the back of her head. "How did you do it, though?" She asked. Eve's eyes darted from side to side, "Well... Uh... Err... I just practiced, of course!" She laughed. The girl nodded in a confused manner. "Oookay..?" She replied awkwardly.
Who would've thought that Eve could run into Cookie? Here, of all places! Everything

One of the surgeons came out of the Emergency Room and said with a regretful sigh, "We couldn't save her arm. Her eye seems to be okay as well." "What about her damn heart?!" Cookie shouted. It all suprised everyone she knew who was trying to comfort her. The doctor smiled and she said calmly, "Her heart is fine. So are her lungs. But the knife had knicked a large piece of her upper ribs. We had to put in implants just to keep it from puncturing her lung." "And the seizure? What damage did that do?" Jorge asked. "Suprisingly, given the large amount of blood loss, the seizure, and her whole humerus being completely turned to powder... Nothing. She's perfectly fine. It's just..." "Just what, Doctor?" Kat asked. "We can't seem to get her to wake up." Cookie's eyes widened snd she got up and then ran down the hallway. "We're going to put her in an LCT unit. To keep her from injuring herself. If that's possible." They all nodded.
Cookie looked down at her hands. Eve was l
Hath No FearGiving yourself completely up to fear is kinda like falling in love: You can't pin point exactly when it started and by the time you realize that you are surrounded by that sensation it's already game over. Just like the image of the person you are in love with starts creeping out from every unexpected corner, fear never leaves your side when you give it a welcome stay. After a restless sleep, it starts beating anxiously in your heart the moment you wake up in the morning and commands all your thoughts and actions throughout the day. It is nothing short of a prison, except you are the only inmate and the warden never takes a break. Ever.
I do not exactly remember when I let fear occupy my being but I remember the exact moment when I realized I was ruled by it. It was late in the afternoon, everybody was out there 'getting busy living' and I had locked myself inside my bed half awake, not particularly finding any valid reason to get out of it. Then I was awakened from a nightmare by my
